I-MEI Conducting Fellowship Program
The "I-MEI Conducting Fellowship Program" was initiated by the I-MEI Culture and Education Foundation in 2021, in collaboration with the National Symphony Orchestra. NSO Music Director Jun Märkl was inspired by the lessons he received from conductors Leonard Bernstein and Seiji Ozawa, and wanted to similarly pass on his knowledge and experience to young up-and-coming conductors in Taiwan.
The program invites international award-winning young conductors to serve as assistant conductors and promising young conductors to serve as conductors' assistants. The NSO believes that this program provides a stable environment for participants to accumulate professional orchestra experience. There is no better way to create a strong platform for the development of future conductors in Taiwan.
