Building on its long history of commitment to music education and promotion, the NSO launched its "NSO Youth Program" at the end of 2020. The program provides a platform for music education of top talent through a variety of formats made possible by corporate partners and collaborations with educational institutions, including:

  • Masterclasses
  • Rehearsals
  • Side-by-side orchestral performances with bothetween professional and young musicians
  • On-campus performances in remote areas
  • Conveying students from rural areas for concert hall performances

The "NSO Youth Program" is the brainchild of NSO Music Director Jun Märkl, who has had extensive experience developing young music talent in European and American orchestras. Together with Maestro Märkl, the panel of instructors comprise former and current NSO principals and soloists, who provide the young musicians with professional instruction.
