Yung-Ho Fu
Yung-Ho Fu graduated with a Premier Prix in Double Bass from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in 1989, also studied at the National Institute of the Arts and the National Academy of Arts in Taiwan.
He received the 2019 Golden Melody Award for Best Art Music Album and the 1982 Ministry of Education Arts Award. He has given masterclasses at top institutions such as the CNSM Paris, Berlin University of the Arts, and Manhattan School of Music in New York.
Fu is currently the Principal Double Bass of the National Symphony Orchestra and Associate Professor at Taipei National University of the Arts and Shih Chien University. He has presented solo recitals in Taipei, Taichung, Kaohsiung, Yilan, Paris, and Manila, where the performance was broadcast on local television. He arranged the complete Bach Cello Suites for solo double bass and adapted Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons for bass quintet, expanding the repertoire and expressive possibilities of the instrument.
