Ku graduated from the Department of Music, Tainan University of Technology. She began participating in rehearsals and performances with the Kaohsiung Symphony Orchestra during her student years in 1984. She has also recorded an album titled Sea Breeze's Traction and won the Performance Recording Award at the 26th Golden Melody Awards in 2015.
