SECOND VIOLIN Assistant Principal
Wen-Tso Chen
Wen-Tso Chen holds a DMA from Rutgers University, an MM from The Boston Conservatory, and a BM from the National Tainan University of the Arts. Her early training was with Ling-Hsuan Huang, Ching-Ran Tseng, Yu-Chih Chou, Chen-An Chi, and Hui-Chun Lin. In the U.S., she studied with Todd Phillips and Lynn Chang. She received a full scholarship for her doctoral studies and a substantial scholarship for her master’s degree. She participated in the Aspen Music Festival in 2006. In 2008, she won First Prize in the National Music Competition (Violin, College Division A). She was invited to the Tanglewood Music Festival in 2011 and 2012, serving as concertmaster of the TMC Orchestra. She performs regularly with the NSO chamber series and currently teaches at Tunghai University, Fu Jen Catholic University, Dun-Hua Elementary, Hsin-Tien High, Zhong-Zheng High, Xin-Sheng Elementary, and Da-An Junior High.
