Ming-I Lee was born in 1982. During her early childhood, she showed great potential in music. Studying with many teachers, among them Prof. Pei-Chi, Lee one of the most influential instructors in Taiwan, her passion and enthusiasm has inspired her to pursue music as a career. In both 2001 and 2003, Lee won first prize at the Taiwan National Oboe competition. In 2005, Lee received her undergraduate degree from the music department of Soochow University. Following that, in 2008, she graduated with honors from the prestigious Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” in Berlin, after studying with Prof. Ricardo Rodrigues. During her study in Germany, Lee was invited to participate in the German National Youth Symphony Orchestra’s (Junge Deutsche Philharmonie) tour of the major cities throughout Germany. Lee furthered her experience as the principal oboist with the European Philparmonic Orchestra (Europa Philharmonie), and toured Germany, Italy, Yemen and Saudi Arabia. Since 2008, Lee has been studying in the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Rostock for the Konzertexamen, with Prof. Sabine Kaselow. At present, she is a member of the National Symphony Orchestra in Taiwan.
