Cecilia Fang is a first violin section player of the National Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Fang started playing the violin at a very young age and graduated with excellent grades from Ku-Ting Elementary School and Jan-Ai Junior High School. Ms. Fang was second prize for Taipei City Young Musician Competition and she won first prize for Taiwan National Adult Violin Competition. In 1996, she performed with the Asian Youth Orchestra and toured around Asia. In 1997, Ms. Fang was invited to perform at Sugar Hall Asia New Talent Recital in Okinawa, Japan, on behalf of Taiwan. Ms. Fang’s teachers in Taiwan were Nien-Fu Liao, Chung-Ping Hsieh, Kuei-Chu Chu, Ching-Hung Chen, Chia-Hung Liao.
She was admitted to the National Taiwan University of Arts Music Department with top grades. After graduation, she was accepted to the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and studied with Prof. Frischenschlager. During her study in Vienna, Ms. Fang also attended some major music festivals, such as the Vienna Music Festival and the Salzburg Music Festival, studied with Ican Straus and Mauricio Fuks.
