Announcement of Selection for Music Director by Taiwan Philharmonic

I. The Taiwan Philharmonic (also known as NSO, the National Performing Arts Center-National Symphony Orchestra, Taiwan, R.O.C.) announces its search for Music Director in accordance with relative regulations to proceed their selections under those regulations.

II. The Music Director is employed by the Board of Directors of National Performing Arts Center and the main responsibilities are acting as conductor of the Taiwan Philharmonic and in charge of orchestra training and rehearsals for concert performances, managing development and direction of the Taiwan Philharmonic, examining annual project and evaluating orchestra members’ performance periodically and supervising auditions and enrollments for new members, etc.

III. The required amount of time the Music Director engage with the orchestra is according to the discrete contract by the Board of Directors.

IV. Applicants should have one of the following qualifications:
 a. Was a guest conductor of the Taiwan Philharmonic and recommended by more than half of the Taiwan Philharmonic’s orchestra members.
 b. Assumed a full-time conductor position in an established professional symphony orchestra and recommended by one of the Board Members of National Performing Arts Center.

V. Applicants should submit the following documents and materials:
 a. Application form (format as provided)
 b. Recommendation letter (format as provided)
 c. Curriculum vitae with relevant information including video and audio recordings of performances and rehearsals as well as a list of repertoires conducted. Recordings can be send in by DVD or through uploading to internet.
