Chamber music can be said as one of the oldest form of performance, and it was also the main practice of music playing back in the old days. In the days when recording technology had not been invented, music playing is often for self-entertainment, just like poker or ball games with a few friends. Compared to the solitude of solo music or the numerous members in the orchestras, chamber music has its own intimacy, allowing the composers to reveal their secrets through this genre on the one hand, and to practice the composing techniques for smaller orchestration, or to try their new ideas of music vocabularies and techniques on the other. The more we explore the world of chamber music, the more we find the splendid beauty of it. In this concert we will go duet, trio, and then quartet, to figure out the fun experiments and the secrets of the composers. There will be rarely performed pieces, as well as well-known works, but what they have in common would be the evocative melodies and the brilliant ideas of music. Come and enjoy the richness and beauty of chamber music with us!
