Cecilia Fang

Cecilia Fang joined the National Symphony Orchestra first violin section in 1999, the youngest musician to join at the time. She has received numerous awards and achievements that include 1st prize winner in the Taiwan National Adult Violin Competition, 2nd prize in the Taipei City Young Musician Competition. In 1996, performed and toured with Asian Youth Orchestra., In 1997, invited by Japan Sugar Hall Asia New Talent Recital to represent Taiwan; at the same year, appeared with Taipei Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra to perform the Beethoven Romance.

After attended the National Taiwan University of Arts Music Department and graduated with top grades, she was accepted to the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, studied with Prof. Frischenschlager. Meanwhile, attended major music festivals, such as the Vienna Music Festival and the Salzburg Music Festival, studied with Ican Straus and Mauricio Fuks. Her mentors are: Japan – Prof. Kyoko Suzuki, Prof. Yoshinaga Teizo; Taiwan – Prof. Nien-Fu Liao, Prof. Chung-Ping Hsieh, Prof. Kuei-Chu Chu, Prof. Ching-Hung Chen, Prof. Chia-Hung Liao.

Cecilia is very passionate with youth classical music education; except music, she enjoys family life and likes to practice Chinese calligraphy, visit art exhibitions, and arrange independent travels.
