Sherry Peng is the first female to get a bass trombone position in a professional orchestra in Asia. Right after graduating with a Masters degree from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University, she won the bass trombone position in Evergreen Orchestra (Taiwan) in 2003. In 2004, Sherry won the Bass Trombone audition in National Symphony Orchestra of Taiwan and she has been there ever since. As an educator, she works with a wide range of students, from young children through adults. She is the adjunct lecturer of the Chinese Culture University, and teaches several wind ensembles in Taipei. In addition to her orchestra performances and education duties, she is also a member of East Coast trombone Quartet and Taipei Wind Ensemble.
Sherry holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Schoow University and a Master of Music degree from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University where she studied tenor trombone with Jim Olin and bass trombone with Randy Campora.
