Ms. Sun joined the National Symphony Orchestra in 1998.
Ms. Sun studied at the Graduate School of Music, Indiana University, under Maestro Franco Gulli, and the Graduate School of Music, University of Michigan, under Professor Jacob Krackmalnick and Professor Paul Kantor. Ms. Sun received her Master of Music degree from University of Michigan in 1991. She was offered scholarships from University of Michigan, the Grand Teton Orchestral Seminar, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute.
Ms. Sun was a member of the Marin Symphony Orchestra in 1992, and in 1995, upon her return to Taiwan from the U.S., she received the prestigious The National Theater and National Concert Hall Rising Stars Award. Since then, Ms. Sun has held numerous recitals and chamber concerts at the National Recital Hall and other venues around Taiwan. Ms. Sun was also the guest concertmaster of the Taipei Opera Theatre and the Contemporary Chamber Orchestra of Taipei. Ms. Sun advanced her violin techniques and pedagogy with Maestro Kek-Tjiang Lim from 1995 to 1998 in Taipei.
In addition to her passion for classical music, Ms. Sun is also a passionate reader and writer. She has been a correspondent author of several performing art magazines. Ms. Sun co-translated a book, The Vision of Caliban, co-authored by Jane Goodall and Dale Peterson, with her late husband Dr. Sheng-Hai Wu. Lately, she has completed a law program at the School of Professional Education and Continuing Studies of the National Taiwan University in 2017.
