In honor of the 300-year history of Liugdui, composer David Loon-Hsing Wen joins the NSO with Liugdui Hakka singers Wing (Wen-Yu Luo), Zhi-We Yan, Angel Hai-Chun Chu, Wei-Jie Huang, and indigenous singer Sauljaljui (Tai Siao-chun) to present this concert of Hakka ballads that speak of love for the Hakka hometown and the peaceful daily life in Hakka villages. Incorporating modern, jazz, rock, popular music, and Hakka bayin elements, these innovative renditions will pass on traditions while creating a novel listening experience.
