Born in Taipei, Cheng-Jung Sun graduated from the Academy of Music in Detmold Germany in 1994 and the National Institute of the Arts in 1991. She studied clarinet with Wei-Leng Chen, Hsin-nin Chang, Chien-Hwa Fu, Henry Fei, William Bainbridge, Michel Rochat and Hans Klaus. She has won several awards in clarinet performance. In 1990, she played Mozart's clarinet concerto with Taipei Symphony Orchestra. Also in 1996, 1997, 2000, 2003 and 2004 she gave her clarinet recitals at the National Recital Hall, Taipei. Currently, she works as clarinetist at the National Symphony Orchestra, teaching at the University of Taipei, Chinese Cultural University, High school of NTNU and she is the member of the Golden Woodwind Quintet.
