Chen-Hsing Chen

Chen-Hsing Chen graduated from the Music Department of National Taipei University of Education, studying with Mr. Ya-Wen Lien. Mr. Chen was accepted to Conservatoire National de Region de Versailles in 1988, majored in percussion. His teacher was the timpani principal of Paris Opera, Mr. Sylvio Gualda. In 1989, after he received the “Ier Accesit a I’unanimite” from Conservatoire National de Region de Versailles, he was accepted to Conservatoire National de Region de paris, studying Piano with Prof. Olivier Gardon. Mr. Chen won the gold medal of the Conservatoire National de Region de Versailles Percussion Competition in 1991 and returned to Taiwan. He joined the National Symphony as percussion section player and timpanist that same year. Mr. Chen is also the music director of Taipei Percussion. Currently, Mr. Chen teaches at National Taipei University of Education, Chinese Cultural University, Zhongzheng Senior High School, and The Affiliated Senior High School of National Taiwan Normal University
