There are plenty of woodwind families! These instruments usually show their different characters in different pitch ranges, and they even have their own unique playing techniques. They have usually been the brilliant and eye-catching targets under the spotlight in the orchestra. In this NSO concert, the principal players of bassoon, oboe, clarinet and flute will go on-stage, with the pianist shuttling back and forth, to bring you four kinds of ensemble combinations of woodwinds and piano, also showing different styles in different times composed by composers of France, the United States, South America, and Germany. It can be classical, elegant, or liberal and carefree; it can be novel, modern, or traditional and heart-warming. Through this wonderful performance, you can not only enjoy the beauty of the woodwind ensemble, but submerge yourself in the beautiful and smooth melody. Not to mention that you can appreciate the ingenuity and creativity of composers to constantly develop the techniques and capabilities of all kinds of instrument combinations. Wonder why the woodwinds are so charming? Come on the scene and let’s find out !
