Music prodigy Mozart called him “Papa”, and Beethoven called him “teacher”. Joseph Haydn, known as “the father of symphony and string quartet”, has been respected by the 18th-century classical musicians and called “Papa”. Why is Papa Haydn widely loved by all? Perhaps it is because Haydn was a considerate and optimistic person when he was a Kapellmeister, and the orchestra members liked him very much. Haydn's music is light and humorous. He composed the “Surprise” symphony to deliberately startle the noble people, the “Farewell” symphony to tell patrons that the orchestra members were homesick and needed a break, and the “Clock” symphony to hide secret music codes. These are masterpieces of using music to expresses certain ideas. In the fourth season of “Dear Little Ones”, the resident conductor Mama Yin-Fang and the orchestra concertmaster Mama I-Ching will share with you the stories about “Papa Haydn.”
