“Das Ewig-Weibliche/ Zieht uns hinan. (The Eternal Feminine/ Draws us upward.)” The end of Goethe’s Faust actually reflects the obsession of the world with the female images. The fantasy images of females in music and literature works are discussed in this concert. With our ears, we will know how Wahnsinnsszenen (mad scenes) captivate the opera world, how witches communicate with the spirits and humans, how vulnerable women transform because of love, and how the determination to revenge is conveyed through art. There are religious fanaticism, folklore, as well as the dazzling virtuosity. Through all kinds of music, we can explore how the composers express the power of magic with sounds and melodies, how women show their charms to bewilder the souls. It will be a fantasy journey in music, with fascinating works and enchanting tales, absolutely enjoyable!
